The world water supply is no longer a sure thing. Although 2/3 of the world is made up of water, only 1% is drinkable. With the world population rising, water droughts and sanitation problems, the demand for clean drinking water will keep getting bigger and bigger.
Water always goes back worse than we get it.
95% of the water we use in North America goes down the drain and is returned to the environment in a much poorer state. Although water is recycled and used again, it is polluted with household chemicals and waste. When water is returned to the environment, it usually goes back in a much poorer state.
We all say we care. But how do we show it?
The sad reality is that many people are oblivious or careless when it comes to saving water. The Global North has more of everything and we all must do our part. Recognizing the importance of water conservation is the first step.
Reduce your use of water.
Let’s start paying attention to how we use our water, and better use its supply. It doesn’t have to be that hard.
